Introduction to Youth Work

This free beginners course is ideal for anyone who is already working with young people or who would like to. It is in house training with opportunities to follow for a recognised qualification.

Refreshments are provided, however you will need to bring lunch.

What you will learn on this course:

1. Introduce the concept of youth work, its history and why it is so important.
2. Develop an understanding of the different and ever evolving needs of young people, the period of adolescence and how youth work can be unique in meeting these needs.
3. Develop effective communication methods and see how they can assist the development of relationships with young people.
4. Look at how an effective youth work process can best meet the needs of young people and help them develop.
